Day Seven

Visit the Sherlock Holmes Museum. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle wrote many of the Sherlock Holmes mysteries while in Meiringen.

This is considered a free day to roam around Meiringen, your home away from home.

It'll be a good time to do some shopping.

Chocolate (bars and/or boxes), meringue, cookies, cow bells, Swiss army knives and embroidered hankies are among items purchased most often.

You'll have time to visit Reichenbach Falls, the Haslimuseum or the Sherlock Holmes Museum.

Your morning walk could include the Aare Gorge.

Or, if you feel adventurous, you can take the gondola car to Reuti-Hasliberg (or beyond) and then walk back into town.

Walk the Aare River Gorge near Meiringen.
