Tour
Day Nine
Today, we'll walk around Luzern to
see the spiffy, newly remodeled railroad station.
We'll visit the Jesuit Church and
the Lion Monument, a huge figure
hewn from a rock face. And, we'll walk across
the Kappel Bridge, reconstructed
in 1993 to replace a structure more than
600 years old that was destroyed in an unfortunate
fire.
Old Luzern has many
mural-walled buildings and shops of spectator
interest.
If it suits your fancy, you can visit the
Swiss Transportation Museum or the
Alpine Museum.
Then, if you haven't filled
your day, take a boat from Luzern
across Vierwaldstatter See to Burgenstock
or Hergiswil, or ride up Mt. Pilatus
via gondola from Kreins, just outside
of Luzern, then take a cog rail down
to Alpnachstad to catch the train
to Meiringen.
There are always lots of
alternatives.
